You may have seen recent reports in both the press, and on television, advising of potential stock shortages of Karicare Aptamil Gold+ 1 and 2 900gm.
National Pharmacies would like to confirm that we do have stock of both of these products at our stores.
As the media has highlighted, part of the issue causing out of stocks, is due to infant formula being purchased in large quantities to be shipped overseas, generally to China.
The other issue caused by the current media reporting, is ‘panic buying’, where consumers are purchasing higher volumes of infant formula than usual, which in turn creates an increased demand and further out of stocks.
National Pharmacies have put in place a maximum unit purchase policy to limit the potential issue of stock shortages.
By enforcing a maximum purchase of 3 cans per purchase, our aim is to try and ensure ongoing stock availability for our members.
